Our custom beer project with the famed Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park in Denver is back in action.

Two custom-made Wynkoop Brewing Company beers from last year-- Elitch Gardens Orchard Wheat and Elitch Gardens Fire Roasted Amber -- are back on tap at the now-open park and at Wynkoop Brewing.

“Our guests really enjoyed the Wynkoop custom brews last summer,” says Rod Rankin, General Manager for Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park. “So this year we are bringing back those two great beers and introducing a new craft beer.”

This year’s new Elitch Gardens beer is Thrills & Spills Summer Ale, a hoppy, low-alcohol, English-style summer ale designed (by head brewer Andy Brown) for warm-weather quaffing.

Alright, it’s official: we have released a hand-canned version of our world-famous Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout.

This is another seminal moment in our 25 years of small-batch liquid art.

As you may recall, RMOS Stout made its debut during last year’s Great American Beer Festival. The draft-only beer earned press and consumer interest from around the world and led to long lines for the beer at our GABF table.

Warren Monteiro, a New York City freelance writer, beer traveler, homebrewer and beer columnist, was chosen as the 2013 Beerdrinker of the Year on February 23 at Wynkoop Brewing Company.

Monteiro's in-depth beer expertise, extensive travels in pursuit of beer, and his efforts to promote great beer to others helped him win the 2013 title.

"This year was very difficult to judge," said Cody Christman, the 2009 Beerdrinker of the Year and a judge at Saturday's finals. "All three finalists were superb and deserved to be on the national beer stage. But Warren won the competition with his blend of wit, knowledge, and a deep passion for all things related to beer."

Monteiro faced tough challengers in Kevin Cox (a Muncie, Indiana beer hunter, homebrewer and beer advocate) and Jen Schwertman (a New York City bartender and beer evangelist who got her start in beer in 1992 at Wynkoop Brewing Company.)

We are now distributing our fourth hand-canned craft beer -- Belgorado Belgian-Style India Pale Ale -- in the Denver area.

Our small-batch, Belgium-meets-Colorado beer combines the wonders of two of the world's best beer cultures with Wynkoop artisan brewing and farm-to-fermenter thinking.

A creation of Wynkoop head brewer Andy Brown, Belgorado has been a draft-only seasonal beer since its debut in the fall of 2010. The beer won a 2011 Great American Beer Festival bronze medal in the festival's Experimental Beer category.

Our judging panel has casts its votes for the finalists for the 2013 Beerdrinker of the Year award. As you know, our 17th annual search celebrates America's most passionate beer lovers.

These super beer geeks must have a deep understanding of how beer is made, its many styles and its importance in advancing civilization. They must have a vast array of beer tasting experiences and be shining ambassadors for the culture of fine beer.

The news about our upcoming bull testicle beer has landed us loads of press at Fox News, The Today Show, Anderson Cooper and much more. And we're getting tons of calls about it. Lovely! We hope to have the cans ready and in Denver area stores by the end of January. For people outside of our area, the RMOS cans will also be available at letspour.com at that time, too. The official release date has not been set yet, but keep an eye on our Web site and and our Facebook page for updates on the beer. In the meantime, locals can swing by our place and the three local Yard House locations and get our world-famous, super nutty creation on draft.

Our RMOS just received another rave review and some wonderful coverage on the Cooking Channel's site, read it at www.blog.cookingchanneltv.com
