BREWER BIOS

Andy Brown

ContactsAndy

Head Brewer

Brewmaster C. Andrew Brown (Andy to his friends) got into brewing the way many professional craft brewers become interested in beer, homebrewing at the young age of 20. The natural question followed: "How can I make this hobby into a career?" Brewing school came next as well as stints at breweries across the front range of Colorado and his home state of Maine.
Andy has been professionally brewing award-winning beers for over ten years and guides the Wynkoop into a promising and beery future. When he's not brewing, Andy creates fine small-batch music by playing bass with several local groups, and he builds custom motorcycles and hot rods in his garage.

Andrew Eaton

Alesman

Our beloved sales/delivery/mojo man is a pseudo native of Colorado who immigrated to Colorado from New Jersey in 1982. (Exit #9 if you must know.). A Wynkoop employee from 1989-1994, he did stints at the late great Broadway Brewing and in the local beer distribution world before coming back to rejoin us. Andrew's by-day mission is to share his knowledge of craft beer with the fine folks of Colorado. When he's not in beer-evangelizing mode? Andrew enjoys volunteering for Project Angel Heart, playing disc golf, listening to music (funk and R & B in particular), camping, exploring libraries and hanging with his family. Fave beer styles: malty brown and amber ales. Go-to Wynkoop beer: St Charles ESB. He prefers Bruce over Bon Jovi.

Clarke Boyer

Beer Pedaler

Clarke fled California in 2001 seeking the bountiful beer pleasures of Colorado. His first "real" job in Colorado was at Pints Pub, a famed Denver brewpub and whiskey bar. There Clarke indulged his small-batch beer passions and met his second love, single malt whiskey. After graduating from the University of Denver he did what any young journalist would do: he became a distiller and brewer at Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey, Colorado's first legal distillery. Four years later he became a beer mover and shaker at the Rackhouse Pub, official pub of Stranahan's and proud tap account of the Wynkoop Brewing Company. After many visits from our smiling brewery staff and numerous "research" samples of Rail Yard Ale and our other beers, Clarke has joined our team to help us spread the gospel of delicious Wynkoop beer.

Eric Erman

Eric Erman
Aleslinger/Brewer

Eric is the newest addition to the Wynkoop Brewing Co. brew team. A University of Michigan grad, he's also a former brewer for Rock Bottom and Michigan outfits Frankenmuth Brewing and Grizzly Peak. The roots of his passion for making liquid wonders stretch back to his childhood. As a kid he once made a concoction so strong it caused his parents' kitchen garbage disposal to explode. "I think I was an alchemist in a past life," Eric says.

Today he makes less volatile but equally stirring creations for us. When he's not brewing beer he enjoys the great outdoors, chess, puzzles, blues harmonica and photography. Eric stays cool and digs all jive. That's the reason he stays alive. His motto: "Live and learn, dig and be dug in return." Fave Wynkoop beer: Orville. Harp heroes: Blind Sonny Terry and James Cotton.

Bill Dodge

Canner/Cellar Man

A retired Denver Public Schools employee, Bill now does part time but fully important work on our canning line. Bill makes sure our liquid art makes it safely into a can, a sixpack ring and then onto your local shelf. When he's not canducting at Wynkoop, Bill enjoys riding bicycles and spending quality time with his wife, sons, dogs and grand kids.

Josh Willett

Josh-Willett

Brewer/Canner/Cellar Man

Our man Josh is a grinning, beer-nurturing dude who heads up canning, kegging and cellar magic for us. He also handles our line cleaning at our draft accounts, and brews on occasion. We asked him the probing question of "Who is Joshua Willett?" and this is what he told us: "I'm beer people. I like people, I like beer and I love the people who drink it. I find the history -- not just past but recent -- of beer culture to be so interesting that to have an opportunity to be a part of the craft movement in America is a definite turn on."
