(Denver, Colorado) – Since June of 2011, Wynkoop Brewing Company (Colorado’s first brewpub) has been at full brewing capacity and unable to pursue new accounts for its small-batch draft and hand-canned beers.

Despite that scenario, the pioneering brewpub (founded by Colorado governor John Hickenlooper) boosted its annual sales for distributed beer by 33% over 2010.

The brewery also produced 3870 barrels of beer in 2011, up from 3500 barrels in 2010.

To help increase the supply of Rail Yard Ale, Silverback Pale Ale and its other beers, Wynkoop has just completed its first brewery expansion in 13 years.

"In today's economy," says MGCF's Frank Keesling, "private donations are hard to come by. Silverback will provide much-needed funds for our projects to survive, and create a great new way for us get our message out to more people."

Colorado’s first brewpub lands Best Brewpub honor and hefty Rail Yard Ale praise

(Denver, Colorado)  – Wynkoop Brewing company has just landed three very significant honors.

In its new May issue, All About Beer's esteemed beer reviewers -- Malt Advocate founder and publisher John Hansell and A-list beer writer Stephen Beaumont -- reviewed our hand-canned Rail Yard Ale in the new AAB issue, giving it hearty praise.

Mr. Hansell noted Rail Yard's balance, caramel maltiness, in-check bitterness and thirst-quenching joys. Mr. Beaumont touted the beer's "Macintosh apple fruitiness" and "just faintly toffe-ish finish" merits and deemed it "an excellent job translating the Wynkoop experience into a can."

The new April/May Celebrator Beer News also reviewed Rail Yard and gave the beer a "Highly Recommended" honor. The CBC panel touted the beer's for its "rich, hoppy amber" charms and "full body with a malty balance." We agree.
